Young Kay Panabaker, the middle child and voice of reason in The WB's hit
drama Summerland, is already a veteran of stage, television and film as well as a high school graduate and college
student.
Kay began acting at age eight in a community theater outside Atlanta. She made her professional debut at the
Chicago Shakespeare Theater a year later and had two movies under her belt by age ten. Television was next, including recurring
roles on The Brothers Garcia and The WB's Angel, as well as an episode of ER for which she was
nominated for a Young Artist Award. Kay's range as an actress is evident in the comedy series Phil of the Future,
in which she plays Debbie Berwick, the perky, perfect antithesis of Summerland's moody and complicated Nikki.
A good student and over-achiever, Kay finished high school at age thirteen and is currently enrolled in a
local college. She juggled her first semester of college classes, including chemistry, while shooting the first season of
Summerland, by attending school at nights and on weekends.
Panabaker lives in Los Angeles with her parents and her older sister Danielle, who is also an actress. The
family enjoys traveling together, having visited every state in the country with the exception of Alaska. Kay's hobbies include
dancing, swimming, bowling, reading and babysitting.
